Enugu LG poll: Nsukka records peaceful election

The Enugu State local government council election on Saturday, September 21st was peaceful in all the polling units monitored by our correspondent. However, the distribution of election material started at about 10:38 am while voting started in some polling boots at about 11:00 am. Some of the voters who spoke with our reporter noted that the voting process was peaceful and transparent as they cast their vote without harassment or intimidation by anybody. Speaking shortly after casting his vote, Chief Jude Asogwa, the candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the election thanked the residents for coming out en mass to exercise their franchise. Asogwa, who voted at about 12:05 am at Otobo-Odoro pulling units, Nkpunano ward expressed his satisfaction with the electoral process, and Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC) for organizing a free, fair, and transparent election. LG Council poll: Nsukka Town Youths pledge maximum support for Asogwa

As the Enugu State  Local Government Council Election is here, the President of Nsukka Town Youths Association, Comr. Onyekachi Omeje, has urged all youths of Nsukka to rally round the People's Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Engr. Jude Asogwa because of his youths friendly agenda. Omeje said this in a press statement issued in Nsukka on Friday signed by him. He said that Asogwa had robust plans for youths in the area, in terms of empowerments as well as addressing other needs and aspirations of youths. Nsukka ex-market leader condemns brutal murder of Enugu market chairman

Chief Festus Onogwu, former Chairman of Ogige Market Amlagameted Traders Association Nsukka (OMATAN) has condemned the last Saturday brutal assassination of Mr Stephen Aniagu, Chairman of Ogbete Market Amalgamated Traders Association (OMATA) Enugu by unidentified gunmen.
