I am excited, humbled by this honour to me, by Nsukka Like-Minds in Diaspora - Nsukka LG Chairman

Chief Walter Ozioko, the Chairman of Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State said he is excited and humbled by honour done to him by Nsukka Like-Minds in Diaspora for organizing a Football Competition to celebrate the achievements of his administration.

Nsukka Like-Minds in Diaspora have its membership from the six LGs that make up Enugu North Senatorial District.

Ozioko made the remark on Sunday while speaking with the newsmen shortly after the final match between Nsukka West and Nsukka Central which ended 2:0 in favour of Nsukka West.

The Chairman said that he didn't know that people at home and in the diaspora were watching and taking records of his administration's efforts to bring many dividends of democracy to  Nsukka residents.

"I was surprised when the organisation known as Nsukka Like-Minds in Diaspora comprising indigenes of Nsukka abroad approached me that they want to use a football competition to honour me in recognition of my numerous achievements as Nsukka LG  Chairman since my assumption of office on March 4, 2022.

"What Nsukka like-Minds in Diaspora have done will encourage me to do more to Nsukka LG residents as well as render more selfless service to humanity.

"Truly speaking, I am excited and humbled by this singular honour and recognition of my administration's achievements by Nsukka Like-Minds in the diaspora," the LG boss said.

Ozioko commended football teams that participated in the competition for the high level of discipline and sportsmanship displayed, which made the competition a huge success.

"I commend all the teams for their commitment, discipline, and sportsmanship displayed during the competition.

"I congratulate in a special way the team of Nsukka West that emerged the winner of the competition for being the best among equals," he said.

Our correspondent reports that Nsukka West the winner of the competition smiled home with N600,000.00 while Nsukka Central and Nsukka East came second and third went home with N300,000.00 and N200,000.00 respectively, all sponsored by Nsukka Like-Minds in Diaspora.

The final match on Sunday was watched by thousands of spectators from different LGs at Nsukka Stadium

Mr. Francis Ameh, Chairman, Nsukka Like-Minds In Diaspora was among the dignitaries that watched the final match between Nsukka West and Nsukka Central.
