By Agency Report Gov. Alex Otti of Abia State says, it was non-functional of local refineries in the country that encouraged petrol subsidy by Federal Government . Otti said this in Nsukka on Thursday while presenting the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) 63rd Founders' Day Lecture titled "Petrol Subsidy Removal: Dealing with Challenges, Harnessing the Opportunities." He said that if the country's local refineries were functional and working in full capacity the trillions of naira spent on subsidy could have been diverted into other infrastructural development. "It's unfortunate that we don't have functional petrol refineries in the country which resulted in government spending trillions of naria in the name subsidising  imported fuel. By Agency Report No fewer than 800 farmers in Igboeze-South State Constituency have been trained on how to produce different organic fertilizers and pesticides they will use in their farms. In a remark on Thursday in Nsukka during the one day training at St Mary's Catholic Church Ibagwa-Aks Igboeze-South Local Government Area of Enugu State. Mr Harrison Ogara, the Lawmaker representing Igboeze-South Constituency in Enugu State House of Assembly said that, he decided to organise the training so that farmers would benefit and have bumper harvest in their farms at lower cost. Speaking in Nsukka on Thursday during a colloquium organised by Animalu's friends to mark his 85th birthday in UNN.
