Emulate the good performance of your predecessor, VC urges new UNN-SUG President.

By Agency Report Prof  Charles Igwe, the Vice-Chancellor, University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) has urged Enoch Utazi the new Students Union Government (SUG) President of the university to emulate good performance of his immediate predecessor Micheal Abuchi. Igwe said this in Nsukka on Wednesday during the inauguration of new UNN SUG executives elected on October 31 and inauguration of projects executed by Abuchi administration. He said that the administration of Abuchi remains the best in the history of UNN-SUG in recent time because of his good relationship with management and adequate attention to students welfare He commended Abuchi for erecting two buildings in the campus in strategic locations that contained ten toilet facilities each, buying two sienna vehicles to convey physically challenged students in UNN to lectures, scholarship to some indigent students. Education funding should not be left for govt alone -Tetfund Secretary

By Agency Report Mr Sonny Echono,  the Secretary of Tertiary Education Trust Fund  (Tetfund) has said that to ensure sustainable funding of education, tertiary institutions and stakeholders must be involved in education financing and not left government alone in funding. Echono who is an architect by profession, said this in Nsukka on Friday while delivering University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) 51 convocation lecture titled " University Autonomy and the Challenges of Sustainable Funding in Nigeria,". By Agency Report Mr Lloyd  Ekweremadu, the Enugu State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, has said that Nsukka Town Youths Football League will help drive home state government’s campaign against drug abuse. Ekweremadu disclosed this in Nsukka over the weekend in a remark during the opening ceremony of the Nsukka Town Youths Football League 2023 with the theme "Shoot Out Drug Abuse Among Youths". He said that the football tournament theme was apt and in line with state government's agenda, to use football and other sports to discourage youths against drug abuse and other social vices. Nsukka Chamber of Commerce to make the zone, Enugu State economic hub

By Agency Report The Nsukka Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NSCCIMA) says that it will transform Nsukka Zone to make it  economic hub in Enugu State. Mr. Uchenna Nnadi, the Director General of the Chamber, disclosed this in a  statement issued in Nsukka on Tuesday stating that NSCCIMA as non-religious and non-political, but an institution  for economic advocacy for  development and growth of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs). By Agency Report Mrs Uche Okolie Commander, Nsukka Unit Command of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC)  has advised motorists to avoid the temptations of over-speeding during the yuletide because it kills. Okolie gave the advice in Nsukka on Friday during the "2023 Ember Months Zero Operation flag-off" to sensitise and educate motorists  and other road users in the  area on safety The Theme of the event is "Excessive Speeding Thrills but Kills, Drive Responsibly and Avoid Over-speeding."
