Power company to install 240kw Solar Plant, build Car Park in UNN

By Ikemefuna Ikem Mr. Edu Okeke, the Managing Director of Azura Power West Africa Limited, an Independent Power Producer based in Edo State says it will install 240 kilowatts of solar energy and build 80 capacity car park in the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN). Okeke who is an alumnus of UNN disclosed this in Nsukka on Friday during the Ground Breaking Ceremony of the 240KW Solar electrification and Car Park Construction Project. He said when the project is completed in May this year that it will provide uninterrupted power supply in all the departments in the Faculty of Engineering. The project which he said would cost the sum of N604m is part of their cooperate social responsibility aimed at boosting power in UNN as well as to contribute to the growth of the energy sector in Nigeria. PCN urges UNN fresh inductees to maintain high ethical standard

By Agency Report The Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN) has inducted fresh Pharmacy graduates of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) into the Pharmacy profession even as it urged them to make high ethical standards their watchword . Mr. Ibrahim Ahmed, the Registrar and the Chief Executives officer of the PCN gave the advice in Nsukka on Friday during the 48th Induction/Oath-Taking ceremony of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Science of UNN. He said that the Oath-Taking and Induction ceremony is one of the criteria required by the PCN Act 2022 before registration as a Pharmacist, stressing that the council frowns at professional misconduct in its entirety. ASUU put smiles on faces of indigent students in UNN

In a remark while presenting cheques to 11 indigent students beneficiaries on Friday in Nsukka during  ASUU-UNN congress. Prof Sule-kano Abdullahi, ASUU Trustee and Chairman National Visitation Panel of the union  said that the award was to support indigent students in Nigerian Universities in their education. Nsukka youths to sponsor UTME registration fee, for 123 indigent candidates in Nsukka

By our reporter The Nsukka Town Youths Association (NTYA) says, it will  sponsor the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) 2024 Unified Tertiary Maticulation Exam (UTME) registration fees, for 123 indigent candidates from the area. NTYA is an umbrella body of youths groups from the nine autonomous communities  that made up Nsukka Town, in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State. Comrade Onyekachi Omeje, the President of NTYA  disclosed this in Nsukka on Thursday while briefing newsmen. Omeje said that, the gesture was to remove the financial barrier to education for brilliant indigent candidates in the area as well as to contribute to the educational growth of the community. Chief Austin Ngwu, one of the Sponsors of the 2023 Nsukka Town Youths Football League has commended the Nsukka Town Youths Association (NTYA) for using football competition to campaign against crime and drug abuse among youths. Ngwu made the commendation in Nsukka at the weekend during the grand finale of the 2023 Nsukka Town Youths Football League competition held at the Nsukka Township Stadium in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State with the theme; "Shoot-Out Drug Abuse among the Youths." He said that football competition and other sports remained one of the veritable tools to engage the youths meaningfully and prevent them against crime and drug abuse, stressing that the competition was meant to sharpen the skills and fish out hidden talents among youths in the area while discouraging them from illicit drugs use. Nsukka Like-Minds in Diaspora have its membership from the six LGs that make up Enugu North Senatorial District. Offorma a member of United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (UNSDSN) said this in Nsukka on Wednesday while presenting a lead paper during the 3rd Annual, Hybrid international multi-disciplinary conference of UNN. With the theme"Exploring Sustainability of Post-2015 Development Agenda : Is the Glass half full or half empty." She explained that, the 17 SDGs success was anchored on number four goal Quality Education, which she said the country had failed as a result of poor funding and attention to matters concerning education.
