Eid el-Kabir: UNN Chief Imam preaches obedience to constituted authorities

By Ikemefuna Ikem Dr. AbdulMuminu Isah, the Chief Imam of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) Central Mosque has urged Muslims in the country to always ensure obedience to constituted authorities in the country. Isah gave the charge in Nsukka on Wednesday in a remark during prayer to mark this year's Eid-el-Kabir celebration. He said that the main significant of Eid-el-Kabir was obedience as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to God when God directed him to sacrifice his son Ishmael to Him. "Abraham demonstrated his obedience to Allah when He instructed him to sacrifice his only son Ishmael which he was about to do before Allah provided a ram for the sacrifice. Kidnapping: Drivers protest, block Enugu Ugwogo-Opi Nsukka roa

By Our Reporter Commercial Sienna bus drivers plying Enugu Ugwogo-Opi Nsukka road on Tuesday blocked the Opi-Agu section of the road with their vehicles in protest against the renewed kidnapping of motorists on the road. The protest which started about 7:30 am left hundreds of road users stranded for over 3 hours as the drivers were bent on drawing the attention of the authorities to happenings on the road. The drivers were singing solidarity songs while matching up and down the road bearing placards with different descri2ptions such as; " Enugu Ugwogo-Opi Nsukka road is kidnappers den. Sen Utazi empowers 30 constituents with N300,000 grant each

By Agency Report Igwe Samuel Asadu, the Traditional Ruler of Edem-Ani Community in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu has promised to buy a car to Dr. Bonarichard  Nnanyelugo, a new  medical doctor in the community . Nnanyelugo was among medical graduates inducted into the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria at the  Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka (UNIZIK) on June 17, 2023. Speaking with newsmen in Nsukka on Monday, Asadu said that he decided to buy car and maintain it  for one year for the new doctor so as to encourage young people to remain focused and determined in achieving their life dream notminding obstacles. NGO sensitises secondary school girls in Enugu community on menstrual hygiene

By Agency Report A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) has sensitised Secondary School girls in Opi Community, Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State on how to maintain proper menstrual hygiene. Speaking during the sensitisation seminar in Nsukka on Friday Mrs. Vivian Nwagbo, the Founder and Executive Director, Heroes of our Time African Foundation. Nwagbo who is a Lawyer said that the aim was to educate and provide accurate information to young girls about their monthly menstruation. "We believe is better to catch them young, so that they will maintain proper menstrual hygiene on their monthly period that would help promote good health and fertility. "The seminar is to educate young girls on how to maintain proper menstrual hygiene, to avoid contracting infections that may cause infertility when they marry.
