By Agency Report Chief Walter Ozioko, the Chairman of Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State said he is excited and humbled by honour done to him by Nsukka Like-Minds in Diaspora for organizing a Football Competition to celebrate the achievements of his administration. Nsukka Like-Minds in Diaspora have its membership from the six LGs that make up Enugu North Senatorial District. Ozioko made the remark on Sunday while speaking with the newsmen shortly after the final match between Nsukka West and Nsukka Central which ended 2:0 in favour of Nsukka West. Don urges FG to show more commitment in implementing SDGs

By Agency Report Prof Grace Offorma, former Dean, Faculty of Education, University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) has urged Federal Government to show more commitment in implementing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) especially goal number four. Offorma a member of United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (UNSDSN) said this in Nsukka on Wednesday while presenting a lead paper during the 3rd Annual, Hybrid international multi-disciplinary conference of UNN. With the theme"Exploring Sustainability of Post-2015 Development Agenda : Is the Glass half full or half empty." She explained that, the 17 SDGs success was anchored on number four goal Quality Education, which she said the country had failed as a result of poor funding and attention to matters concerning education. "Nigeria may fail to achieve SDGs in 2030 because, government has not shown sufficient interest in the programmes that would facilitate the attainment of the goals, especially, the Goal 4.

By Agency Report Prof Boniface Nworgu, the Imo State Commissioner for Science and Technology says, Imo State is over due to become the Vice-Chancellor of University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN). Nworgu said this in Nsukka on Friday during the Maiden Heartland Lecture organised by Imo Professors Forum (IPF) in UNN with the team "Identity, Determination and Self Realisation through Knowledge-based Idealogy". The commissioner who chaired the occasion in a remark, wondered why  Imo State a  critical stakeholde in South East and in UNN had not been allowed to produce the Chief Executive Office  (CEO) of the university  since 1960 the institution was established. By Agency Report Prof  Charles Igwe, the Vice-Chancellor, University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) has urged Enoch Utazi the new Students Union Government (SUG) President of the university to emulate good performance of his immediate predecessor Micheal Abuchi. Igwe said this in Nsukka on Wednesday during the inauguration of new UNN SUG executives elected on October 31 and inauguration of projects executed by Abuchi administration. He said that the administration of Abuchi remains the best in the history of UNN-SUG in recent time because of his good relationship with management and adequate attention to students welfare He commended Abuchi for erecting two buildings in the campus in strategic locations that contained ten toilet facilities each, buying two sienna vehicles to convey physically challenged students in UNN to lectures, scholarship to some indigent students. Education funding should not be left for govt alone -Tetfund Secretary

Ekweremadu disclosed this in Nsukka over the weekend in a remark during the opening ceremony of the Nsukka Town Youths Football League 2023 with the theme "Shoot Out Drug Abuse Among Youths". He said that the football tournament theme was apt and in line with state government's agenda, to use football and other sports to discourage youths against drug abuse and other social vices. By Agency Report The Nsukka Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NSCCIMA) says that it will transform Nsukka Zone to make it  economic hub in Enugu State.
