ENUGU: Security Chief commends Amufie Community Youths, applauds monarch for keeping to security tips

Amufie Autonomous Community in Enugu-Ezike, Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State was agog on Thursday 15th September, 2022 as HRH Igwe Engr. Ikenna Ujah (Soo Chukwu Bu Eze 1 of Amufie Kingdom) received Chief Anselem Odo, SP rtd/ Commander Central Body Neighbourhood Watch, Igbo-Eze North Chapter and his team, who visited the Community to Sensitisation youths on Security.

Chief Odo's visitation was propelled by the recent killings, commission of arson, issuance of threats to people's lives by a group that identified themselves as unknown gunmen in the recent days within the Council Area.

Addressing the mammoth crowd at Community Secondary School, Amufie in Enugu-Ezike, Commander Anselem Odo, maintained that the leadership of of His Excellency, *Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi's, Executive Governor of Enugu State in collaboration with Hon Ejike Itodo, have done wonderfullly well by beefing up the security in Igbo-Eze North thereby bringing Security Strike Force to checkmate the unlawful activities of  unknown gunmen in the area. Chief Odo used the opportunity and corrected an impression that Enugu State Government brought a security outfit known and called " Ebubeagu" to Enugu-Ezike. He noted that Gov. Ugwuanyi in his proactive nature to safe lives and properties of the citizenry brought Enugu State Neighbourhood Watch Strike Force to Igbo-Eze North to flush the "bad eggs" who indulge in the wanton killing of  people.

He however thanked the Community monarch, Igwe EngrIkenna Ujah* for mobilising his people for the meeting. He noted that the traditional ruler has demonstrated capacity by the virtues of his mobilization and above all, making sure that his subjects are crime free unlike other communities within the Council Area.

He further commended the youths for living upright lives thereby distinguishing themselves from others in the area of crime commission. Chief Odo therefore, urged the youths to always report any fleeing suspect to the appropriate quarters and charged them to nominate five youths who would work with him at Neighbourhood Watch Central Body, Igbo-Eze North Chapter, through their Igwe.

Chief Paulinus Onuh, President General, Amufie Autonomous Community, welcomed Commander Anselem Odo and his team. He enjoined the youths in his community to continue to toe a rightful path.

Mrs. Grace Odo, Secretary to the Amufie Women Forum,  on behalf of the women, expressed her joy for the beautiful comments made by the Chief Odo about Amufie community. She also expressed that the mothers in Amufie community will continue to teach and pray for their children in all ramifications.

Onechukwu Ekeh, Youths leader Amufie Autonomous Community, expressed his joy for every accolades made for the youths and vowed to continue to live an exemplary life.

HRH Igwe Engr. Ikenna Ujah on behalf of the entire community commended Commander Anselem Odo, Nze William Nwodo and their team for their timely sensitisation across the communities. He noted that he has peculiar foundation with the Commander having visited some clans within his Autonomous community with the view to curtail insecurity.
