INSECURITY: Enugu monarch urges miscreants to vacate community or face the wrath of law

Cognizant to the insecurity ravaging the nation, where a lot of atrocities and crimes have been committed, like the wanton killing of people, incessant damaging of people's farms, raping of people's wives on the farms, etc.

HRH Igwe Sam Momoh, ACP rtd. (Eze Igwurube 2 of Nkpamute-Ulo Kingdom) invited his subjects at his palace, Ugwuatama Community in Enugu-Ezike, Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State, telling them his observation and information at his disposal that a lot of negative things has been
happening at Nkpamute Ulo community in recent times.

Igwe Momoh noted that a fleeing suspect was gunned down at Nkpamute-Ulo by the Government Security Strike  Force  few days ago and rumours had it that the suspect  had a camp at Nkpamute.

The traditional ruler, who blamed both Ugwuatama and Nkpamute-Ulo community town criers for not circulating his invitation to the meeting effect as he directed that all the Youths within Nkpamute-Ulo Autonomous Community must be in attendance, calls the stakeholders present to dialogue on the matter.

Chief Abugu Simon, Traditional Prime Minister, Nkpamute-Ulo Autonomous Community, Chief John Ossai, Deputy Traditional Prime Minister/Nkposi Ozzi, Hon. Emenike Ojobe, former Councillor, Romanus Odumegwu, Nkposi Ugwuatama and others  maintained that a lot of criminals are living at Nkpamute-Ulo, either as indegines or citizens and call on Igwe Momoh to eject them.

By and large, Chief Luke Apeh Deputy President, Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, Igbo-Eze North Chapter, and Hon. Chief Cyril Onuh, Administrator Igbo-Eze North Central Development Centre, in their separate remarks, debunked that they never compiled the names of any group of people and submitted to the Joint Task Force in Igbo-Eze North as speculated by one Ifebuche Ossai Idoko, who allegedly in a viral WhatsApp voice note said that they (Chief Luke Apeh and Hon. Chief Cyril Onuh)  compiled the names of Unknown gunmen and submitted it to the security agents.

They also joined others who urged  HRH IgweMomoh to sanitize Nkpamute-Ulo.

Igwe Momoh further condemned both the activities of Fulani herdsmen on people's farms and the activities of unknown gunmen by the wanton killing of people.
He, however, commended the leadership of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and Mayor Ejike Itodo for working round the clock to restore normalcy in Igbo-Eze North LGA in particular and Enugu State at large.

He, therefore, charged all the criminals living within his territory to vacate or face the wrath of the law, this was as he maintained that any miscreant/s  who want to repent should urgently approach him (Igwe) to take him or her to both Local and State governments who through her magnanimity, granted amnesty to the repented ones.

Enugu State is in the hands of God.

Don kicks against implementation of Oronsaye report

By Agency Report Prof Jonah Onuoha, former Head of Department Political Science, University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) says the present economic hardship in the country is not the best time to implement the Steve Oronsaye Panel report of 2012 that will make many civil service lose their jobs. Onuoha who is the Director, Centre for American Studies in UNN said this in Nsukka over the weekend while reacting on recent approval by  Federal Executive Council (FEC) for full implementation of Oronsaye report.
